Spotlight: Richard Wall –

Richard is one half of the dynamic photography duo at Many weekends you will find Richard snapping everyday riders at Mt Mee or Mt Glorious in Queensland, Australia. When Girl Moto first started posting, Richard reached out, keen to offer support to a publication that fosters more women into the riding community. Girl Moto is proud to have Wall2Wall capture our riders during the launch day ride and celebration on 31 July 2022.

Where are you currently located?

Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.

What’s your current ride(s)?

2021 Aprilia Tuono Factory 1100, 2016 BMW S1000R, 2013 Triumph Street Triple R (Track Bike) and my dad’s project bike. A 1975 Suzuki GT250.

What was your very first bike?

1991 Suzuki RGV 250

How long have you been riding?

30+ years

Where is your favourite place to ride?

Anywhere but more specifically the track, Mt Mee or Mt Glorious.

Is there a bucket-list ride that you are yet to do? If so, where?

Nurburgring Germany, Great Ocean Road Australia, Tasmania Australia and The Bend (track).

What is your usual riding style and with whom?

On public roads, spirited in the mountain twists. On the track, flat out! With my wife or mates, but will absolutely do a solo therapy ride if I need it.

What is your involvement in the world of motorcycles?

I have run the Facebook group Aussie Riders for over 10yrs. I do regular track days. I take photos and do photoshoots of bikes and their riders.

What do you love about being involved in the world of motorcycles?

The friendship and support.

What led you to be involved in the world of motorcycles?

My dad raced motorcycles at Bathurst. When he passed away in 2022, we packed up his house. We found a bike frame and wheels in the garage, a motor in his wardrobe and everything else, brand new in box in the spare room cupboard! A project I will finish for him. I am documenting the details on the Aussie Riders Facebook page.

My older sister rides down at the Gold Coast. I ride. My wife rides. Two of my sons ride. I guess you could say riding is in our blood.

Any comments/thoughts/observations specifically about female riders or riding?

Best thing in the world is riding with my Jodie (wife). I particularly love it when the girls can ride better than the blokes. There is one lady who kicks my arse at Morgan Park Raceway I love it!

What is some advice you have for all motorcyclists?

Ride your own ride and don’t worry about or trying to keep up with those that are faster than you.

When buying a bike, test ride as many as you can. The one that gives you the biggest smile… get that one.

Any thoughts/observations/comments about Girl Moto?

I like what Girl Moto is about, hence why I reached out. Anything I can do to support female motorcyclists and more females taking up riding, I’ll do.

Loren is our Girl Moto founder and editor. Several years into her leadership role with East Coast Female Rides (ECFR), Loren felt a desire to bring a female-focussed publication to life. One that would serve to unite Girl Moto's around the world. With a background in business finance, marketing and copywriting, Loren actually creates Girl Moto content as an excuse to call riding motorcycles "work". When not being Girl Moto, you will find Loren enjoying downtime with her family, riding with her ECFR tribe or feeding her obsession for travel and good food, with a healthy side-serve of beach vibes, whenever possible.
